The kind of work you'd be doing:

  • Clearly identify and describe business and technical stakeholders and business goals to create a vision for product architecture
  • Identify, formalize and prioritize requirements for products and systems, including but not limited to performance and scalability, reliability, accessibility, security, changeability
  • Develop architectural designs through collaborative decision-making
  • Articulate architectural concepts, patterns, approaches and styles
  • Describe and document best practices and implementation strategies for achieving main quality characteristics
  • Conduct architectural analysis and assessment of solutions by involving stakeholders, identifying architectural risks, and developing mitigation strategies
  • Closely collaborate with the development teams to ensure architectural solutions can be translated into robust implementations

Ideal Qualifications*:

  • 5+ years of experience as a solution or software architect or tech lead capacity
  • Has a track record of delivering successful products as an engineer and/or tech lead
  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Clear understanding of software design patterns and principles
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Strong understanding of devops and modern cloud infrastructure (docker, kubernetes)
  • Experience deploying systems to commercial cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, MS Azure)
  • Experience building and working with highly scalable, highly performant middleware (eg. REST APIs, messaging services, authentication/authorization services, etc.)
  • Experience building systems or services based on the HL7/FHIR spec an asset
  • Experience building systems requiring external integrations is an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to disseminate information to both technical and non-technical audiences
